Guest blog from our guest Bianca v.K.

If you are ready for a relaxing weekend away - or as my son calls it: a mini holiday - Dutchen's Suitelodges Gooilanden in Loosdrecht are highly recommended.

A warm welcome

This park is described as an oasis of tranquillity and modern comforts, which is music to our ears. And with us immediately a round of introduction, namely myself with friend and two-year-old son. But also as a couple without children, several couples or just a group of friends: be sure to read this blog and also get an appetite for this stay.

At reception, I am immediately given a friendly welcome and given a surprise bag of sorts: a goodie bag, the favourite bag of many! Chocolates, coffee, tea, oil, washing-up liquid, salt and pepper and even our own bath slippers. I think this makes an average person very happy, at least I do! And also an order form from the baker, who will gladly bring us freshly baked rolls. In fact, even before you enter the park, you feel more than welcome!

We have a holiday home with sauna and from the moment I enter, it feels like a home. Equipped with actually everything you need, the property gives a modern yet homely feel. Not to mention the extras! The details range from a toaster, shampoo and shower gel, a citrus juicer to oil for the sauna and fireplace complete it all.

Not to mention the sauna, luxurious fireplace and to make the party complete: a bathtub in the bedroom. The youngest member of the family is particularly pleased with the latter. He is immediately jumping enthusiastically next to the bathtub. But mum and dad also love it. It really feels like having nothing to think about and being in your own bubble with the family.

What makes the house beautiful and convenient is that both bedrooms have their own shower and toilet. And because of the large sliding doors, this also really gives you your own space. If you are here with two couples or two girlfriends/friends, you really have your own space.

My son especially likes these doors for playing hide-and-seek behind and reappearing on the other side. So you see, everyone experiences coming home in their own way.

We walk right into a nature reserve

The house overlooks a stretch of water and other holiday homes. What makes it so nice is that those houses are situated exactly so that no one looks in on each other. It gives a spacious yet not alone feeling, if you know what I mean. The oasis of calm, lives up to its name with this.

The park really radiates tranquillity and we walk right into a nature reserve. It feels like a kind of urban forest, in which we can take a nice walk. The advantage is that it is directly opposite the park, so it's like a really big backyard.

In addition, we drive by car within 5 minutes towards a beautiful forest and heathland, which consist of several nature reserves. Here it is possible to park the car and take long walks in both the forest and the heathland. It is a forest where dogs are allowed to run loose and therefore there are quite a few walkers out and about. It is also a lovely area, so I agree with them all!

And of course we admire the Loosdrechtse Plassen. It's not yet boating weather for us, but you can secretly take a lovely walk there too. So we stretch our legs and admire the view there too. I can imagine that with nice weather, it's a lovely sailing spot.

After all these activities, we then come home, which is what we already call our holiday home by now, to enjoy lighting the fireplace, turning on the oven, going into the sauna in between and toasting a wonderful weekend. Secretly, we would love to stay longer.

An oasis of calm and modern comfort: this promise is certainly fulfilled by Dutchen!
