Baayvillas in Lauwersoog is the ideal destination for families who love nature, adventure and water fun. Right on the Lauwersmeer, there are plenty of opportunities for canoeing, supping, swimming and mudflat hiking at Paezumerlannen. For young adventurers, the Activity Centre Lauwersnest offers a nature playground with a large bird's nest, cableway and water crossings, while a water playground with sand and water systems awaits at Het Booze Wijf.
There are several hiking trails especially for children, such as the Gnome Path and the Bird Experience Path. The WasWadPad takes families on a playful voyage of discovery through the changing landscape from mudflats to forest. At the Dark Sky Park, children can stargaze at night.
For a day out, Schiermonnikoog is highly recommended. The ferry takes you to the island in 45 minutes, where you can cycle, swim at Berkenplas and enjoy fresh kibbeling. Animal and nature lovers can visit the Wadden Sea World Heritage Centre (WEC), an interactive place where science, knowledge and education and the Pieterburen Seal Centre will come together from 26 April 2025.
