At Dutchen, we value nature conservation and biodiversity. Therefore, we are proud to share that hives, inhabited by the gentle Carnica honey bee, have been installed at this park.
With the hives, we not only want to contribute to the recovery of the bee population, but also create awareness about the importance of these special insects. The bees are professionally managed and do not bother visitors - as long as they are left alone. In this way, we take our commitment to sustainability one step further and invite our guests to take care of our nature together.
There are 2 hives at the park - this ensures healthy competition among the hives and better protection against natural enemies.
Honey from our own hives - depending on the harvest, the delicious Dutchen honey is available at the reception
Feel free to look at the hives - but please keep a safe distance
The beekeeper visits periodically for maintenance and organizes workshops for our guests and kids, please ask the reception for more information and details.
