Conscious holidays in Drenthe

20.10. new

Sustainability is an important part of Dutchen.

At Park de Zeegser Duinen in the National Park Drentsche Aa, sustainability is central. The holiday homes are built with eco-friendly materials and energy-efficient concepts. The grounds are laid out naturally to protect local flora and fauna and preserve the landscape. In addition, nature activities are encouraged to enable guests to interact responsibly with nature. In this way, the park combines recreation with a sustainable approach to environmental awareness and nature conservation.

Together for the environment

As a guest at Park de Zeegser Duinen, you can play a part in enjoying a mindful holiday that supports nature conservation. Stop by the reception to pick up a wooden Dutchen litter picker and biodegradable bags, then head into nature to collect litter and help keep the habitats of plants and animals clean.

We also have a waste bingo game for children, making clean-up efforts fun and engaging for our younger visitors. Pick up a Clean Up Bingo card at reception, head out, and contribute to preserving the national park with its unique flora and fauna. This initiative not only helps the environment but also teaches kids about sustainability in a playful way. When they fill up their bingo card, they’ll receive a little surprise! Join the effort and share your photos with the hashtags #Dutchen #WorldCleanupDay #DutchenCleanup on social media.

International Car Free Day

In addition, 22 September has been declared international ‘Car Free Day’. We fully endorse the idea of leaving the car at home more often. Upon arrival at Park De Zeegser Duinen, you park your car (possibly at the electric charging station) and the activities during your stay can be reached while walking or by bike. The reception has various walking and cycling routes available to make the most of this Car Free Day.
